Welcome to the new Lufft I-Box 2.0
The next generation of the Lufft I Box: The Lufft I Box 2.0. This new version is based on NodeRED, an open-source system for Industry 4.0 that was developed at IBM and is now considered an industry standard. Very versatile, very helpful.
Overview
Functionality
The Lufft I-BOX 2.0 consists of
- an industrial-grade hardware (e.g. rule.box von W&T)
- an OPUS20 node that is installed in NodeRED (Software)
Software: OPUS20 NodeRED Node
The OPUS20 NodeRED node can be easily installed via the NodeRED palette. In the NodeRED menu ‘Manage Palette,’ simply enter ‘opus20’ under ‘Install,’ and the node can be installed for free.
Then the OPUS20 node appears on the left side under “Network.” The configuration includes:
- the IP address
- a measurement channel of the OPUS20
- a checkbox for enabling metadata in the output
- a field for entering the license key
With the free version, 4 channels are available. Primarily, this allows for testing the connection to the OPUS20 and conducting measurement tests.
The license key can be obtained from Ondics. Instructions on how to do this can be found here.
Hardware: rule.box by W&T
The NodeRED OPUS20 node can be run in any NodeRED instance. If deployment in a control cabinet is intended, we recommend the rule.box from W&T. The OPUS20 node has been tested, and the hardware is approved for this use.
Important features of the rule.box from W&T:
- Power supply: Power over Ethernet (PoE) or 24 … 48V DC (+/-10%) via screw terminals and external power supply
- n the event of a power outage, there is no data loss. Built-in buffer capacitors enable a error-free shutdown.
- DIN rail mounting is possible
-
Node-RED is pre-installed and updatable
- Other nodes are pre-installed, such as MySQL
The rule.box hardware can be ordered directly from W&T.
The Lufft I-BOX 1.0 hardware is not suitable as a runtime environment.
Price & Ordering Options
The OPUS20 NodeRED node (hereinafter “software module”) should first be installed in NodeRED. It can be installed for free via the built-in palette in NodeRED (search for opus20 or the node node-red-contrib-opus20). If the OPUS20 device is found and successfully transmits data, the MAC address of the network interface will be displayed in the configuration dialog of the software module.
A license for the software module costs
399 EUR + VAT
The license entitles
- to the perpetual execution and use of the software module
- for the use of the software module in a NodeRED instance. The NodeRED instance is identified by the MAC address of the network interface.
- for updates via the NPM package manager https://www.npmjs.com. NodeRED also obtains updates for other installed nodes through NPM.
To purchase a license key, the MAC address must be provided.
The order can be placed via the order form and support requests by email to info@ondics.de. Please provide the following information:
- Company Name
- Company Address
- Contact person
- MAC address (displayed in the configuration dialog of the NodeRED OPUS20 node after installation)
- Billing address
We can usually deliver the license key within a few days after receiving the order.
